Community Groups Preview

Relationships are important. At Palm Vista, we believe that the most important relationship is a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We also believe that this relationship is best nurtured when we commit to live in relationship with other Christians who are also growing in their faith. Through these relationships, lives are changed! Community groups provide an ideal environment for people to build authentic and lasting relationships with God and others.

The spring community group semester at Palm Vista begins the week of Sunday, February 12. I would like to invite you to take the step of joining one of these groups. Groups meet once each week for thirteen weeks, usually in the homes of church members. Groups range in size from 8-14 members, and study topics this semester will vary from group to group. Childcare is provided in many groups.

You will find a list of available groups on our website, www.palmvista.com. Please review the list and register for the one you are most interested in. Your registration form will be forwarded on to your group leader, who will contact you. A brochure with a list of available groups will be included in the Sunday bulletin throughout the registration period. You may sign up for a group using that as well. Please review the brochure and website from week to week, as information will be updated throughout the registration period.

Starting Point

Last weekend, thirty participants attended Starting Point, our church membership class, which introduces people to the family of God and our particular church family. We addressed topics like our church mission and vision, salvation and baptism, and the expectations of membership at Palm Vista. Participants who have not yet done so will also be completing PLACE assessments to help them find a place in ministry. We will vote on these new members at our next business meeting. Group Finder

On Sunday, Palm Vista hosted its semi-annual Group Finder luncheon, an event designed to help attendees learn more about our community group ministry, meet our community group leaders and discover a group that is right for them. Some 70 participants attended Group Finder, with 29 new people registering for a group. Community groups launch the week of Sunday, February 12 and end the week of Sunday, May 6.
