  Phillip Sanchez has been the Campus Minister at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) for the past 2 years. This position was with the Southern Baptist Convention - specifically through the North American Mission Board. Before that, he began ministering in various venues as a freshman in college, and the ministry has been growing ever since!
Phillip is the founder of a community-wide outreach ministry that has impacted thousands of people called “Wake Up” the West Valley. “Wake Up” has taken many forms over the past years - concerts, service projects, conferences, etc. Phillip is also the founder of a ministry network called Estrella Harbor (www.estrellaharbor.com). Phillip has his Associates degree at EMCC in Communications and is looking to pursue a Bachelor degree in Communications in the near future.
Note from Phillip:
As a sophomore in High School I fully surrendered my life to Jesus the Christ as my Lord and Savior. Soon after in my Junior and Senior years of High School, I grew in my understanding of God's calling. With my High School experience being such a pivotal point in my life and testimony, I am excited about the opportunity I have to invest in High School and Middle School students by being the Youth Minister at Palm Vista Baptist Church.
My greatest hope for the students at Palm Vista is to see them have an authentic relationship with Jesus and an authentic relationship with one another as family. I want to partner with parents and volunteers to create a community of students who have a lifestyle of discipleship, service, and worship. This, of course, is all rooted in the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ.
 Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I am an expert at having fun!
